Baked KL is a home-based online bakery that began as a hobby for sisters Iza and Izi Sallehuddin. It began as an ode to their mother’s baked goods that has now grown to become one of Malaysia’s best healthy dessert makers.
It was a chance discovery when Baked KL started offering their gluten free chocolate and almond Madagascar Brownies that led to them embracing the idea of making guilt-free cakes and desserts for everyone to enjoy.
Baked KL currently offers non vegan, non gluten free cookies and whoopie pies, vegan cookies and cakes, gluten free brownies and baby friendly cakes. With their diet-friendly range of desserts, this is a welcoming treat for those who are trying to lose the extra pounds for summer or maintain their summer body without foregoing their sweet cravings.
Looking for a diabetic-friendly cake, a keto diet cake or a special order dessert? Baked KL also provides customised cakes and desserts and will work with you to create what you need.
Baked KL’s free-from products uses coconut sugar,ย dates and other natural ingredients, all freshly baked to order. The ingredients used for each item is clearly listed on their website. Please note that all gluten free and vegan baked goods are baked in a home kitchen space which contains nuts, dairy, flour and other products that may contain gluten. Baked KL is not Gluten Free Certified, however they do their best in preventing cross contamination. Baked KL’s gluten free baked goods are suitable for those with gluten sensitivity and not recommended for those with celiac disease or other serious cases.
It is rather hard to come across baby-friendly, healthy toddler and kids cakes in Malaysia. BakedKL has created a range of healthy yet amazing cake flavours that appeals to babies, kids and adults.ย You can select Carrot Cake, Strawberry Banana Cake, Chocolate Orange Cake and even a Funfetti Cake covered with sprinkles!
Their baby friendly and kids birthday cakes contain no nuts, dairy, eggs and refined sugar and you have the option to make it gluten-free as well. The most surprising part of the baby friendly cake is that they’re made with tofu – minus the taste of tofu. The texture of the baby cake is denser than your usual cakes. However, the cake melts in the mouth and is safe for your baby to consume. This healthy cake is perfect for celebrating a baby’s first birthday without the parental guilt of feeding your baby their first taste of cake filled with sugars and preservatives. It is also a perfect cake for kids birthday parties in Malaysia.
As we love all things summery and tropical, we tried the baby friendly Vegan Carrot Cake with a natural purple coloured frosting. This lovely cake was full of shredded carrots and covered with a deliciously tropical coconut whipped cream and toasted coconut. It’s summer in a bite!
