We’ve all been through one of these situations: getting a cut underwater from stepping on a dead coral or rock, sprinting faster than Usain Bolt from the beach to the sea as the sand is scorching hot, touching something soft with your feet while in the sea (Ugh!), watching your flip-flops float into sea when they come off your feet while walking along the shore, getting into a boat and slipping on the wet surface…

Wearing just any footwear into the sea isn’t particularly a great idea. Shoes take forever to dry, while flip-flops can be challenging to walk underwater and you’ll just end up losing them.

ABOUT SEA STAR BEACHWEAR

Sea Star Beachwear was started in the summer of 2015 with the goal of creating the ultimate resort and summer water sport shoe and lifestyle brand for men, women and children. 

Until now, the only water shoes that existed were bulky and technical in design. Michael and Libby set out to make a shoe that is chic enough to wear for a walk on the beach, on a boat or in town, and that also functions as a quick-drying and protective water shoe. We re-imagined the classic espadrille design with a neoprene upper and rubber “boat-shoe” sole. The Beachcomber Espadrille fits comfortably and is snug enough to stay on while walking in the surf.
